As a busy mom I love when I can find ways to simplify, make things easier, or stumble on an awesome mom hack. There are a few things that I have found to help make this whole “momming” job a whole lot easier.
I love being able to order my diapers and wipes online-
Thank you Amazon!
I love being able to order my groceries online and pick them up later-
Thank you Walmart Grocery Pickup!
And now, I love being able to visit with a doctor online!-
Thank you Intermountain Connect Care!
The Intermountain Connect Care app is the most recent “super awesome mom hack/life changing super simple amazing thing” that I have found out about.

As a fellow mom, I’m sure you can relate to the internal debate you have when a child becomes sick.
“Oh no, is that a fever? Does he have a runny nose? Is it allergies or something worse?”
“Crap, it’s almost 5:00 and it’s Friday! Not a good time to get sick…”
“I’d have to drag all the healthy kids to the germ infested doctors office too, and then probably get them all more sick!”
“She’s pulling at her ears and acting crazy…..ear infection???”
…….and many, many other scenarios……..
Now, thanks to the Intermountain Connect Care app, you don’t have to have that silly internal battle with yourself because you can visit with a clinician without ever stepping foot into an office!
Using your phone, tablet, or even your computer you can get access to a clinician 24/7, 365 days a year! (Can I get a hallelujah!?)
So if you’ve got cold or flu symptoms, ear pain, a sore throat, allergies acting up, croup (if you are like us, this happens o-f-t-e-n….) rash, skin irritations, or other urgent but minor symptoms all you have to do is use the app and you’ll instantly get the answers you need from an actual clinician.
…..and not like when you search WebMD and think you are either pregnant or dying……
In my family situation with having a newborn I love having the option to visit with a clinician at any time and that a visit is just $49 even without insurance! Some insurance plans are accepted, but insurance is not necessary to use this app! If your insurance does end up covering part of the cost, you will get a refund of the difference.
Once you log on to the app and fill out all your info you can get started. First you can see what providers are available or if there is a wait for them. You can also view their profiles and pick the provider that you want to see. In your appointment you can go over your concerns, get a diagnosis, find out if it’s something more serious and if you need to be seen in office (if you do need to go be seen in office you won’t be charged for your online visit), get treatment, and you can even get a prescription called in.
So, how do you get this app?
Just go to the App Store or Google Play store on your phone or tablet and search for “Intermountain Healthcare Connect Care”
Download and open the app, fill out your info and you are ready to go!
This sure came in handy for us last week when around 12:45 A.M. we heard that all too familiar croup coughing from our 3 year old daughter. Using the app, I was able to visit with a doctor, make sure my daughter is okay, and get the much needed prescription called in for her.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
With three young kids I have a feeling that this app is going to come in handy quite often. And even though it’s a little bit more than my office visit co-pay I love that I can access it from anywhere at anytime. And that to me is completely worth every penny!
