Winter is here and that means that sometimes it’s just too cold to play outside and we no longer have the option of using the local park as a means of entertainment. Being stuck inside all day can lead to boredom, sibling fights, and waaaaay too much screen time! Everyone starts to drive each other crazy and mom is all out of ideas!

Sound familiar?

Well I don’t want this happening to me or you this year so I’ve searched high and low to find all the best Utah Indoor play places to take our kids during the winter and hopefully be able to catch a break from hearing “Mommy, I’m bored.” or “He won’t stop looking at me.”  or……….and the list of kids complaints goes on and on……..

 Other Ideas:

More ideas that are around your community and lots of them are free!!!!

Visit your Local Fire Station. Most are willing to give you a free tour and let the kids explore and learn about being a firefighter. Stop by or give them a call!

Check out your local Movie Theater during the day for a matinee. Or better yet, find a dollar theater near you for the cheapest movie option!
Most libraries have designated story times or other activities going on. My kids love going downtown to the main Salt Lake library and exploring around their kid section, and riding the elevators to the top and looking out over the city.

Sometimes you just gotta get out of the house and that is where a fast food play place comes in handy! Last week we played for 2 hours at Chick-fil-a while mom got in some good girl talk time!

Shopping Mall Play Areas are great places to let the kids get out some energy. Plus you can get some shopping done too!

*City Creek Center: Dinosaur Play Area
*Layton Hills Mall: Play area with outdoor theme
*South Towne Mall: Closed in area and also a train (fee for train)
*University Mall: A large treehouse and dinosaur excavation site
*Provo Towne Center: play area with slides and other structures. On second floor there is a carousel (fee)

Winter can be rough on moms. What ideas do you have to keep your kids entertained?
